What's this bit about gifts? It looks like something for sale. If I attach a gift as directed. does that merely mean I add a picture to my message? Why would I want to add a picture of a pumpkin to my note?
I remembered that last semester you had a link to the AIA website so I went back to the Rome II blackboard and then surfed through the different lectures from anywhere in the country. Oh well.
The lecture on Egypt next semester looks fantastic. I'll be at that one.
I wish the lecture on Narrative, Myth, and Society in Etruscan Culture on Dec. 3 wasn't so far away! It sounds really interesting. And it's at the Getty Villa which has so many cool things relating to Rome. *sigh*
Thank You Professor! Two students from the UAA have also joined: Mitch Darnell - Vice President and Megan Steuve - Recruitment Officer. We will definitely pitch the AIA at the next UAA General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 12th, @ 5:00 pm and encourage the Members to join this organization as well.
Hi Jayni-
We have here in Surprise, an educator with a passion for Native Americans and their history. She is putting together a series of lunch lectures about the local tribes and their early history. We have about 25 attending each lecture, which has up to now not been advertised.
Liz Griesman has also taught at Sun City Grand on Eygptology. She also attracted a large number to her classes.
It would really be wonderful if something could be done out here.

I put that picture in because we called it the "I am ready for a safari" picture and I would like to travel to a dig but for the time being I may have to settle for the adventures here in Az like the PHX Zoo where we took the photo. I did not even think about the fact that it would be confusing since it is not me (my niece)....Thanks! I am hoping i.e., praying, crossing fingers, breaking wishbones, pennies in wishing wells, making promises to pagan gods etc., to be accepted.
Is Breanne on the member list your daughter? If she is, how about a picture? I was going to send her a message and say that we missed her at dinner the other night but wanted to make sure before I did. It would be nice if all the members included their last names?
Tom asked for nominations for officers for the upcoming year. I am writing to all the current officers urging them to consider serving at least one more year. This year we have had and are having the most fantastic year we have ever had. And it is due to the hard work and efforts of you, Mira, Adele and Tom. It would be a pity if all this great experience would not be used again. Think of all you four have accomplished since June 2008.
If this meets with your approval and the approval of the other three officers perhaps we could use this website to sent out a message asking for the approval of the slate of officers for the 2009-2010 season.
Hi Jayni, thanks for the welcome.
I am not an AIA member, is that mandatory for the lectures or any thing else? I have a standing Monday evening committment, but any other evenings I will be trying to attend the lectures in Tempe.

I hope to make it to the Egyptian one in February, but as I work M-F, I have to take off work to attend these. Is there any chance they will have lectures on Saturday?
Thanks for the welcome. I hope that your holidays were awesome and that you're break is going well! I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming semester's talks. See you soon!
Ah, right right, now I remember. I'll write up a little blurb maybe to accompany the february talk announcement. We're having that egpytian artist come to the talk too right?
Hey are you guys back? What's the status of the newsletter? I completely forgot the little blurb for the egyptophiles...can I still send you something or is it too late?
Woot, I'm going to take it with me to christmas. Is that lame? I'll be around the 11th, 12th and 15th for finals and office hours. If you're on campus any of those days let's get coffee or something
Okay I think I fixed the problem where you couldn't RSVP for the Hikade talk..."disable rsvp" was checked for some reason. That was probably me messing around with it in the first days.
I'm going to start using the Organized By line for Sponsorships I think, just cuz I want that stuff to show up on the first page people see.
Also updated the Goette and Hikade talks; I think that picture of Goette from the mailer was the correct one after all, it's the same one on the AIA main site under speakers.
I have to cancel tomorrow as I can't come. My cleaning lady came today and we tackled kitchen cupboards. But she had to leave suddenly around noon instead of working the whole day as planned. So I barely have standing room in my kitchen and cannot leave all that stuff all about and let three or four of the cats stay in the house. Four or five stay in the Arizona Room and the others stay in the house due to the fact that there are warring factions (it's Isis and Tepeyollotl, one black and one white, who cause the problems and have to be separated as they cannot co-exist in peace. Also I cannot leave the two youngest boys Tuthmosis and Djedefre together. And either of them would be a real disaster with dishes etc all over. Besides I really hate coming to Phoenix area in December as driving is so bad due to snowbirds. I figure I can make all the rest of the ones this school year as I won't be going to Egypt in February.
The shirt came and I have not yet opened it as I just picked up my mail at the PO this afternoon. I'll send you a check.
Enjoy learning about SA teeth. I hope the attendance continues. Last time's huge number was awesome.

Which totally cracks me up. Figured it was probably something like that. I told him you might dump the photo with the profanity though...
